Crosshairs Texas’ Youth Safety class introduces kids to safety rules that prevent gun accidents within the near future. The purpose of the lesson is to keep students safe by providing simple steps for them to follow if they should encounter a gun without a trusted adult’s supervision. The lesson is based on the premise that all community members want to protect students from gun accidents, unintentional related injuries or deaths.

**The rules and principles of firearm safety and accident prevention are the basis for the development of the lesson.**

The lessons are designed to provide students with simple steps to follow should they encounter a gun while alone or with other children.

Each student will receive a notarized certificate of attendance, tons of hand outs, safety locks, and gift bag. During this class, Crosshairs Texas will provide 500 free firearm safety kits to local residents through a partnership with Project ChildSafe, the nationwide firearms safety education program.
